Big blow to Chelsea! Romeo Lavia to be out for six weeks due to ankle injury

Chelsea haven't confirmed the news regarding his long-term injury but they will get the clear information on his comeback this week. It's pretty sure that Lavia will miss next 3-4 games for Chelsea.

Chelsea Injury News: Chelsea faces a big blow ahead of the Premier League games. The international break is going on and Romeo Lavia is likely to be out for at least six weeks due to injury. The young gun could join the squad at the end of October. It means, it would be a big setback in the midfield section.

The 19-year-old midfielder made a surprise move from Southampton this summer. He was on the radar of Liverpool and the Reds offered a good price too. However, Lavia decided to play for the Blues. As per reports, Lavia went over on his ankle during training and had a scan last Friday.

Chelsea haven’t confirmed the news regarding his long-term injury but they will get the clear information on his comeback this week. It’s pretty sure that Lavia will miss the next 3-4 games for Chelsea. The young midfielder is one of the expensive signings in the Premier League this summer as Blues invested £58million to get him in West London.

Lavia joined the Saints in 2022 after making a move away from Manchester City’s academy. He showed good character with Southampton. The club moved to Championship and he decided to find a new home at Stamford Bridge. He hasn’t made any start under the new manager due to his injury problems.

Chelsea faces a big blow as they are already dealing with injury concerns like Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka and Reece James. Nkunku also joined the club in the summer so two new signings are yet to feature for the team. Chelsea have to figure out their options as they chase to turn the table in 2023/24 following a disappointing last season.

Chelsea manager Pochettino is focusing on remaining options in midfield. Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo and Lesley Ugochukwu are the potential names to lead the midfield. Caicedo will be vital for the Argentine to provide some stability. The former Brighton star is one of the highest-record signings of the summer. Chelsea are struggling at this stage with just one league win so far and lost to Forrest recently.
