Baby GOAT Shubman Gill with nine lives slams stunning Fifty in IND vs PAK Asia Cup clash

Shubman Gill makes great use of 2 dropped catches to slam fine fifty in IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 clash

Showing his class when needed the most, Shubman Gill slammed a fine Fifty in the mega-important India vs Pakistan clash in Asia Cup Super 4s clash. The Baby GOAT however survived 2 dropped catches but took the best of the opportunity to slam a 37-ball fifty with a tremendous innings consisting of 10 boundaries.

After succumbing to the ghosts of Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris in the first game, Gill came out strong to register his 8th ODI fifty. This also is his first ODI half-century against the arch-rivals.

But today was a different occasion for the Men in Blue. Tasked to bat first, India went on the front foot from the beginning. Gill took a few balls to get to this rhythm but then switched gears and came out with all guns blazing. The Baby GOAT hammered 10 boundaries all across the field and the fast outfield of Colombo surely helped his cause.

“The most important goal for me as a player right now is to win World Cup 2023. I recall being young when India won the World Cup in 2011. The mindset is to swiftly read the wicket and access the positions. As a batsman, it is critical to quickly access to the position and understand the speed. So the planning and play are all based on that. Mindset plays an important role as one has to switch mentally , like from an ODI mentality to a T20 one. The faster you switch, the faster your body adapts, thus I believe being able to mentally switch is important,” said Shubman Gill

The second incident took place in the 8th over of the game. Naseem Shah again and this time yet another short and wide ball. Gill in a similar fashion goes for an edge.
