Babar Azam and Co reach Colombo ahead of IND vs PAK Clash in Asia Cup 2023

Babar Azam and Co will take on the arch-rivals India in their Super 4 match to be played in Colombo on September 10 (Sunday).

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam alongside rest of the players reached Colombo in Sri Lanka ahead of their Super 4 clash against India. To note, the Men in Green will take on Rohit Sharma and Co. at the R.Premadasa Stadium on September 10 (Sunday). Pakistan have already won their first match against Bangladesh and will look to continue the winning momentum against India.

Meanwhile, skipper Babar Azam recently surpassed India’s star batter Virat Kohli to register a new world record. Playing against Bangladesh in the Super 4 match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Babar scored 17 runs off 22 balls before becoming a victim of Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed.

However, the knock helped the right-handed batter reach 2000 ODI runs as captain. Babar did that in only 31 innings beating the world record holder Virat Kohli, who had achieved it in 36 innings. To note, Babar did not get a chance to bat in the first IND vs PAK clash. However, the Pakistani skipper will be hoping to put on a show with the bat in their second Super 4 clash.

After the win against Bangladesh, Babar said, “This win will give us confidence, we are always ready for a big match. We will give our 100% in the next match.” The Men in Green have played all their home matches and have reached Sri Lanka to for the next stage. Speaking on playing the Asia Cup in Pakistan, he said, “Always when we play here, the crowd supports us and I hope all of them enjoyed this match,” the Pakistan captain said on the big support of home fans during the Bangladesh clash.
