Since 2015, Mitchell Starc has prioritized his national obligations over the expanding Twenty20 franchise circuit. During the nine months of that year (2015), Mitchell Starc played 14 games for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) while also playing a key role in Australia’s World Cup victory and touring both the West Indies and England for the Ashes series.
However, he experienced a foot stress fracture at the end of 2015 in Adelaide, and ever since, he has shunned the IPL and other T20 tournaments, including Australia’s BBL, forgoing a substantial pay raise.

However, the Australian team will have fewer responsibilities in 2024 than it has now, giving Mitchell Starc the confidence to say he hopes to sign with a team for a competition that will take place before the Twenty20 World Cup in the Americas and the Caribbean in the middle of the year.
“Look, eight years have passed. I’m absolutely coming back in [the following] year,” Starc said on the podcast Willow Talk. “It’s a terrific lead-up to the T20 World Cup, among other things.”
“Therefore, this is a fantastic chance to gauge interest in the IPL before the T20 World Cup. Additionally, the winter of 2013 will be relatively quiet. Compared to this winter, so I believe it would be a fantastic time to enter.”
A mix of injuries, prioritizing international obligations and family time prevented the top left-armer from competing in the tournament since 2015, costing him an estimated $10 million or more in potential personal earnings.
The tall all-arounder Cameron Green was acquired by Mumbai Indians for $3.15 million (INR 17.5 crore) in December, making him the most expensive Australian cricketer in IPL history in terms of local currency invested. Now it will be interesting to see how much Mitchell Starc could bag in IPL 2024 auction.
