IND vs NEP: Match Summary

In what was the first international clash between the two sides, Nepal showed great fight in the David vs Goliath matchup between the two neighbouring countries.

India completed a dominating win over a less competitive Nepali side on September 4 (Monday). After opting to bowl first, the Men in Blue had a sloppy start as they dropped three catches (Shreyas Iyer, Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan) within the first 20 balls of the match. However, they bounced back strongly and restricted Nepal to just 230 runs. Ace spinner Ravindra Jadeja was picked among the bowlers for India as he scalped three wickets.

Chasing a total of 230 runs, India could only manage to score 17 runs before the rain intervened. After the break, the target was adjusted to 145 runs in 25 overs, which the batting chased down quite easily. Both openers, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, completed fine fifties with the bat.
