UFC 293 Purse and Payouts: How much will the fighters make?

Estimating fighters’ purses is not an easy task, given that they do not reveal any information regarding their earnings. However, since it is such a big event, there are several reports that will give us a ballpark figure.

According to reports, Israel Adesanya took home $3,180,000 in his last fight at UFC 287. This included a $1 million base pay, $100,000 win bonus, $32,000 sponsorship share, $50,000 performance bonus, and $2 million PPV share. Therefore, if UFC 293 reaches similar levels of PPV sales, Adesanya can earn close to $3 million against Strickland.

Strickland, on the other hand, took home a mere $216,000 for his fight against Abus Magomedov. However, that was a UFC Fight Night and did not include any PPV share. Therefore, for this fight, if Strickland can beat Adesanya, get the win bonus, and performance bonus, and add the PPV share, Strickland could earn close to $1 million.

So there you have it. While Strickland will definitely get a pay rise from his last fight, he will not match Israel Adesanya. This is because Adesanya has one of the biggest contracts in the UFC. Moreover, the New Zealander is the champion and the undeniable A-side in this contest.

What do you make of the UFC 293 purse and payouts? Do you think it’s a fair reflection?

Although all indications suggest that McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) must first re-enter the USADA testing programme, which necessitates two clean tests spread over six months, before stepping into the cage, he still lists Dec. 16 as the target date for his next bout.

Since The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31’s premiere broadcast, McGregor has been on-and-off about a fight with Michael Chandler. The fact that the show was on everyone’s mind at the beginning made it very heated, but as the weeks passed, the Irish superstar changed his mind (a few times), and most recently, he wanted to combat the new “BMF.”

The UFC’s president, Dana White, told fight fans earlier this week that McGregor will definitely face Chandler next.

That was confirmed by McGregor during the same interview.
