I responded to Pakistani fans giving abusive remarks for India: Gambhir

However, Gambhir went on to clarify his actions stating that he was only replying to some Pakistani fans who were abusing India. “I responded to some Pakistani fans who were in the stands as they were saying offensive things about our country. If you say something bad to our country then an Indian will respond in one way or the other,” Gambhir said while taking to media persons.

The initial phase of the tussle between Gambhir and Kohli unfolded during an IPL 2023 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Lucknow Super Giants faced off against Royal Challengers Bangalore in April. This intense match ended in a nail-biting finish, with LSG narrowly clinching win by just one wicket. Following the game, a video of Gambhir went viral on social media, showing him gesturing for silence to the enthusiastic Bengaluru crowd.

However, When RCB visited Lucknow to play their second game against LSG, Kohli looked a little aminated while being on the field. Tensions raised when Kohli had a confrontation with Naveen-ul-Haq as the latter came to bat towards the end of the second innings. The Red Army ultimately handed a resounding defeat to LSG, and during the customary post-match handshake, Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq found themselves embroiled in a heated exchange again. Gambhir intervened to defuse the situation but ended up in a fiery argument with Kohli, resulting in their teammates stepping in to separate the duo.
