Asia Cup 2023: IND vs PAK: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli once again was in the spotlight but not for his batting this time. The former Indian skipper was seen catching up with Babar Azam and Co. after the IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 game was called off due to rain at Pallakele Stadium. Virat Kohli was seen chatting and laughing with Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and a few other Pakistani players.

Notably, this is not the first time Virat Kohli interacted with Babar Azam. The Indian star caught up with the Pakistan skipper last year ahead of Asia Cup 2022.

Recalling their first meeting, Babar said that Kohli’s input helped him a lot in his career.

“It feels very good when someone speaks highly of you. Virat Kohli’s comments about me… well, it makes me feel proud. When someone like Virat praises you, you get confidence from it,” Babar Azam had said ahead of the game.

“I approached him during the 2019 World Cup. He was at his peak then. Even now, he is at his peak. At that time, I got to learn a lot from him”, he added.

Talking about the game, Virat Kohli had a rare bad outing against Pakistan as he got dismissed by Shaheen Afridi on 4. Notably, this was Kohli’s lowest score against Pakistan since 2012 across all formats.

Rain plays spoilsport after Hardik-Kishan show

A brilliant contest between bat and ball ended with no result as rain spoiled the highly anticipated IND vs PAK. Rain played hide and seek throughout India’s innings which saw many twists and turns.

Pakistan pacers led by Shaheen Afridi rattled India’s top order as they reduced Men in Blue to 66/4. However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya led the fightback as the duo stitched up a brilliant 138-run partnership to put India in the driver’s seat.

But the game turned once again as Ishan Kishan’s wicket saw a collapse and India lost the next 5 wickets for just 62 runs and got bundled out for 266. The rain then returned, this time heavily and the match was eventually called off. With the point shared, Pakistan have qualified for the Super 4s.
