Garena has announced Free Fire India, which will be available exclusively to Indian gamers on September 5 and will feature a new in-game character dubbed Thala based on Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni. Garena has released a teaser for the Thala character. Check it out in the video below.
Garena, a Singaporean global online games developer and publisher, yesterday announced the launch of Free Fire India, available for download exclusively in India from September 5. Free Fire India incorporates unique content and features to encourage a safe, healthy, and fun gameplay experience.

Free Fire India Thala Character
MS Dhoni appears in the teaser among the other characters from Free Fire India, beating some enemies with a cricket bat. MS Dhoni is also the brand ambassador of Free Fire India, and with his character Thala, sports fans will never miss out on playing as MS Dhoni in Free Fire India. Also, Dhoni will be joined by other leading sportspersons, such as football captain Sunil Chhetri, badminton champion Saina Nehwal, tennis legend Leander Paes, and Kabbadi champion Rahul Chaudhari.
Earlier this year, Garena and Yotta entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to drive the development of esports in India. Yesterday, Garena announced that the flagship Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) will take place later this month. Open to teams across India, the winners will earn the opportunity to represent India at the Free Fire World Series in Thailand this November. More details of the Free Fire India Championship and other esports initiatives dedicated to Free Fire India will be announced over the coming weeks.
