Real Madrid vs Getafe: Los Blancos aim to keep winning without 3 key players

Real Madrid are set to play first home game without Thibaut Courtois, Vinicius Jr, and Eder Militao due to injuries.

Real Madrid vs Getafe: RMA vs GET – Real Madrid will play their first home game of the season against Getafe on Saturday. Due to the renovations at the Bernabeu stadium, Los Blancos played their first 3 league games on the road. However, they maintained a perfect record on all of their away game with 3 straight wins. New signing Jude Bellingham shined, but they are now without 3 key players with injuries this early in the season. Still, Los Blancos will aim the first home game win and make it 4 out of 4 to stay at the top of the table.

Real Madrid are looking for their fourth straight win in their first four matches. It will be the Los Blancos’ first home match of the season after the renovation of the Bernabeu stadium. They are currently the only team in the league with all wins in their opening few matches. However, winning against Getafe will not come easy. Getafe held the reigning champions, Barcelona to a draw in their first league match.

Real Madrid were already missing Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois owing to some serious knee issues. Both players are set to be left out of the field for a long time due to the issues. New signing youngster Arda Guler is also recovering from a knee operation of his own. Los Blancos’ situation worsened when Vincius Jr became the latest victim of their current injury curse. The forward was taken off in the first half in their previous match against Celta Vigo.

He suffered a muscular injury which could see him stay sidelined for around a month or so. Both Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy missed the opening matches of the season. Ceballos is recovering from an injury to his distal tendon in the midfielder’s right thigh. Mendy is recovering from a muscle injury in his right biceps femoris. Both are in the latter stages of their recoveries. However, they will still miss this weekend’s match. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will push for a start in this match.

However, coach Carlo Ancelotti could keep the same starting XI that he lined up in their last match. The only change could involve bringing in Joselu to replace the injured Vinicius Jr. During the pre-match press conference, the coach said about the situation, “Being without Vini Jr means we lose a hugely decisive player for the next few games. Our approach won’t change but we’ll replace him with a player who has different attributes, so we’ll try to adapt our attacking movement.”

About coming back to play at their home, the Bernabeu Stadium, he said, “We’re really excited to be back at the Bernabeu, it looks quite different now. It’s important to get back to our stadium in front of our fans after some good performances in the opening three games. We can’t wait to return and pick up the three points. I’m not in the mind of the fans. I am very excited about the season. Every single one of us, when the season starts, we are hungry to have an incredible campaign.”
