A total of 10 teams will participate in the marquee event
As the host nation, India embarks on their quest for glory on October 8, engaging in a captivating battle against the formidable five-time World Cup champions, Australia, in the vibrant city of Chennai. The tournament will witness the participation of 10 exceptional teams.
Each team plays the other nine in a round robin format with the top four qualifying for the knockout stage and semi-finals. Hosts India who have not won any ICC trophy since 2013 will have a golden opportunity to win the prized trophy in front of their home crowd.
Meanwhile, team India is currently in Alur and will soon depart for Sri Lanka to take on the arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2023. The clash will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on September 2. The Men in Blue are slated to take on Nepal in their second match of the tournament on September 4 at the same venue.
