No KL Rahul for IND vs PAK but Sanju Samson to remain in reserve of Asia Cup 2023 squad

With KL Rahul all set to miss the IND vs PAK clash, it is to be seen if Sanju Samson, who is in the reserve, will get a game

India were dealt with a blow just days ahead of their clash with Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 as KL Rahul was ruled out for the first two games. The wicketkeeper-batsman was expected to make a comeback from his injury in the multi-nation tournament. However, it looks like that will have to wait for some more time.

No KL Rahul for IND vs PAK clash, Sanju Samson still in reserve

India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, on Tuesday, confirmed KL Rahul’s unavailability for the first two games. It is pertinent to point out that Sanju Samson, who was named as the travelling reserve, might be in the scheme of things in the absence of Rahul in the first two Asia Cup 2023 games.

With Rahul out of the IND vs PAK clash, it will be interesting to see India’s team combination and if Sanju Samson manages to find a spot in the playing XI.

KL Rahul to miss IND vs PAK game

KL Rahul is making excellent progress but won’t be ready for India’s opening two Asia Cup 2023 matches against Pakistan and Nepal.

The Wicketkeeper-batter will remain at NCA and will miss on Kandy leg of Asia Cup 2023. This includes India vs Pakistan and India vs Nepal clashes.

“KL Rahul is progressing really well but will not be available for India’s first two matches – against Pakistan and Nepal – of the Asia Cup 2023,” Rahul Dravid announced.
