Kane Williamson is currently racing against time to be fit for the World Cup 2023. The former Kiwi skipper has been given two weeks time to prove his fitness in order to be included in New Zealand’s squad for World Cup 2023. He has been on the sidelines ever since he picked up an injury during IPL 2023.
Now, New Zealand coach Gary Stead has given a deadline to Williamson to prove his fitness ahead of World Cup 2023.
“We got about two weeks from now, until we until we name that side,” Stead told reporters from England.
“We’re going to give them every chance and I guess use that full amount of time he’s in full rehab mode.
“He’s back batting in the nets again, which is great to see. So he’s progressing really well but again, there’s a lot of work for him still to do to make sure he gets to where we need them to be.”
