The Teaser Trailer of EA UFC 5 has kept the Internet buzzing with speculations of who will be on the cover picture. It seems like featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is the one.
The teaser doesn’t showcase much, except for a UFC fighter’s physique which resembles ‘The Great’ Volkanovski. Atleast, that’s what the MMA netizens believe.
EA Sports has UFC have produced four successful installments of the game so far. The first edition had Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson on the cover. Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey were featured on the cover of EA UFC 2. It was followed by Conor McGregor all by himself in EA UFC 3.
Jorge Masvidal and Israel Adesanya then took over as the cover stars for EA UFC 4 and now EA UFC 5 looks likely to feature the 145 lbs champion. Here’s how a few fans reacted to the trailer of the upcoming video game.
Despite suffering his maiden UFC defeat against Islam Makhachev this year, Alexander Volkanovski has had a great run.
Following his third win over Max Holloway, Volkanovski moved up to the 155 lbs category. The 145 lbs champion challenged Islam Makhachev for the title on his first outing of 2023.
‘The Great’ gave Islam Makhachev one of the toughest fights of his career. The five-round fight was extremely close. The damage was evident on Islam Makhachev’s bruised-up face.
The judges, however, gave the win to Islam Makhachev unanimously which several people called unfair. Alexander Volkanovski picked up the defeat and successfully defended the 145 lbs belt next by knocking out Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290.

Who Will Alexander Volkanovski Face Next?
Number one-ranked featherweight Max Holloway will face eight-ranked The Korean Zombie this weekend in UFC Singapore. If Holloway beats ‘Zombie’, we can get to see a fourth clash between the Hawaiian and Alexander Volkanovski.
Meanwhile, fifth-ranked Ilia Topuria is also a likable fighter to earn a 145 lbs title shot, sharing a similar fate with Arnold Allen (4th ranked) or Brian Ortega (third-ranked). As Alexander Volkanovski sits on top, it remains to be seen how the other 145-pounders perform next.
