Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged player of the series

Team India displayed a dominant performance in the first two matches with skipper Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna returning to the fold after a long time. Vice-Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad also played exceptionally well with one fifty in his bag. Debutant Rinku Singh was adjudged player of the match in the second game as he showed his prowess with the bat and certainly looks a bright prospect for the Men in Blue.

On the other hand, Ireland did not had much to show with their skipper Paul Stirling failing in both the games. All-rounder Curtis Campher looked good with the bat alongside senior batter Andrew Balbirnie who stroked a fifty in the second fixture.

Bumrah was adjudged player of the series for his excellent bowling in the first two matches. “Don’t know about that but happy to be back and play cricket. This is something which we did not see coming because the weather was good in the morning. It’s been a lot of fun, it’s been great to lead the side. Everyone is very enthusiastic,” he said at the post-match presentation.

Even if the game would have started, everyone was eager and ready to go out there. I don’t really think about that. When you are getting an opportunity to lead a side, any player would love that. As a a cricketer, you always want responsibility and I always love to take responsibility. All, good, no complaints [on the feeling to be back after months], but one thing- not one year, 10 months,” Bumrah added.
