Khabib Nurmagomedov Recalls ‘Drunk Guy’ Trying To Bully Him In USA: ‘I Was Waiting’

Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed an incident from 11 years ago when he was harassed in the USA.

More than three years after his professional retirement, Khabib Nurmagomedov addressed an interesting incident from his initial days in the UFC when a ‘drunk’ person tried to intimidate him.

The occurrence goes back to 2012 when Khabib Nurmagomedov had just moved to the United States. The UFC Hall Of Famer revealed it while mentioning how he has come across bullies a couple of times in the United States of America.

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently connected with the PBD podcast and addressed several scenarios surrounding his personal life and career. While detailing several insights of himself. ‘The Eagle’ candidly opened up about confronting a bully 11 years ago.

He said, “It was 2012 when I just moved to California when I just signed with the UFC. My English was like my English was not very good. And it was between my gym and hotel. It was like five minutes walking and it was between it was like a supermarket.”

“Everyday I go inside buy something and one old lady on the cashier she know me and I was waiting on the line and one drunk guy he tried to bully me. He was like maybe 35 at that time like 35-40. It [He] was a big guy.”

“He tried to bully like everybody, he was drunk. I told him ‘Brother you have to be careful because it’s not a good idea to joke with me.”

“He just stopped and he realised this is real talk.”

29-0 as a martial artist, Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most decorated UFC champions of all time. He went undefeated in the lightweight category, which is considered one of the most competitive divisions in the promotion.

In a violent sport like Mixed Martial Arts, Khabib Nurmagomedov never let his opponents make him bleed or put a scratch on his face. This asserts how dominant he was in his active days.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has competed in 38 rounds across 13 UFC fights. Only Conor McGregor (Round 3) and Justin Gaethje (Round 1) could outclass him in two rounds. Nevertheless, ‘The Eagle’ choked both men out to defend his undisputed lightweight championship.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired in 2020 after submitting Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, his final fight. He vowed to never return again and has remained steady on his claim so far. Despite many alluring offers from several promotions, ‘The Eagle’ has shown no signs of a pro-MMA comeback.
