John Cena’s final WWE comeback caught everyone off guard. The date of the following one is announced much in advance. The 16-time world champion will make a comeback to SmackDown on September 1 and make an appearance at the WWE Superstar Spectacular in Indiana on September 8, according to WWE.
The 46-year-old Cena last made an appearance on WWE television at Money in the Bank, where he engaged in combat with Grayson Waller. Though it would make some sense if WWE were planning a Cena return match for the Superstar Spectacle, it is unknown if that rivalry will persist in Cena’s future appearances with the organisation. Waller mocked the potential WWE Hall of Famer after the news.

John Cena Coming To India For WWE Superstar Spectacle
Big Game John is entering the ring once more. The WWE Superstar Spectacle in India, where John Cena will be making his debut, will feature his first match since April. With only a few matches since the 2020s began, Cena has been relatively inactive this decade.
Cena left WWE for 16 months following a dramatic match in April 2020 before coming back in July 2021. The 16-time world champion then participated in a number of untelevised tag battles before working the main event match against the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam 2021. This marked the beginning of the “Summer of Cena” live event tour.
John Cena Coming To India For WWE Superstar Spectacle: Date, Venue and More
Cena’s most recent match was a ten-minute, harshly criticised match against former WWE United States Champion Austin Theory at WWE WrestleMania 39.
WWE posted a beaking news via their instagram account stating, “ John Cena is set to apper on Smack Down on September 1 and WWE Superstar Spectacle in India on September 8”
As a result of the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild strikes, Hollywood productions are halted, thus John Cena appears to have plenty of time to promote WWE. It’s unlikely that he will return for a full season, but if the strikes continue into the fall, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him make sporadic cameos in the ring more frequently.
