“Messi English na Bolay..”, Shadab Khan slams troll for mocking Hasan Ali’s English

Shadab Khan said a befitting reply to a troll who tried to mock Hasan Ali's English skills.

Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan has come out to support his teammate Hasan Ali, who was mocked by a troll on social media for his English skills. Shadab Khan posted a witty reply to the troll, comparing Hasan Ali to football legend Lionel Messi, who also does not speak fluent English.

The incident happened when Shadab Khan shared some pictures on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, with a caption, “Modelling skills better? Learning from my teammates.” Hasan Ali commented on Shadab’s post and praised him in Urdu, writing “Mai sadqy jaon wari jaon apny yaar pa, Maa Sha Allah nazar na lag jaye.”

However, this did not go down well with a fan, who asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to educate their players on how to use social media platforms. “For God’s Sake @RealHa55an, You are an international cricketer…!! @TheRealPCBMedia @Rehan_ulhaq @TheRealPCB at least educate them how to use social media platforms,” he posted.

Shadab Khan was quick to respond to the fan and shut him down with a befitting reply. The all-rounder said that Messi, who is widely regarded as one of the best footballers of all time, does not speak English either. He added that foreign players are not judged for their English proficiency, but Pakistani players are expected to be fake and not natural.

‘Not ashamed of my culture or humour’

“Messi english na bolay theek. Foreign players english mai aesi baat ker de theek. Laikin hmy chahe ke ham natural na rahe. Hum fake personality bna le. Bhai mujhe to apne culture ya mazak mai koi sharam nahi. Allah sab ko khush rakhay aur dosre ki khushi mai bhi khush rakhay,” Shadab wrote.

Shadab Khan’s reply won the hearts of many fans, who appreciated his support for Hasan Ali and his pride in his culture. Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali are currently part of the Pakistan squad for Afghanistan series and the Asia Cup 2023. The continental tournament will take place in Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17.
