Sean O’Malley Losses: When and who did he lose to?

O’Malley enters the octagon this weekend with a 16-1-0 record with one no-contest. His only loss came in 2020 against Marlon Vera. However, O’Malley disregards it as a loss. This is because O’Malley injured his leg during the fight, which ultimately led to his loss.

O’Malley and Vera engaged in weeks of verbal battles as the American tried to intimidate his opponent. And the 28-year-old started on the front foot, landing several powerful leg kicks which kept Vera at bay. However, while landing one of these, O’Malley hurt his ankle, and he struggled to move.

Vera then saw his opportunity and started walking O’Malley down. Despite this, ‘Suga Sean’ continued to fight on. However, he eventually lost his balance and fell to the ground. Vera took the opportunity and finished the fight with vicious elbows. So while Vera knocked out O’Malley, it was clear that the injury hampered the American.

O’Malley also has one no-contest for his bout against Pedro Munhoz. Munhoz could no longer continue after an accidental eye poke. As a result, the referee has to call off the fight. In addition, many UFC fans believe ‘Suga Sean’ also lost to Petr Yan. However, the records show that the American took home a split decision after a very close fight. Thus, officially, ‘Suga Sean’ O’Malley has only lost once in the octagon.

What do you make of Sean O’Malley’s record? Do you think he lost against Petr Yan?

Although all indications suggest that McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) must first re-enter the USADA testing programme, which necessitates two clean tests spread over six months, before stepping into the cage, he still lists Dec. 16 as the target date for his next bout.

Since The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31’s premiere broadcast, McGregor has been on-and-off about a fight with Michael Chandler. The fact that the show was on everyone’s mind at the beginning made it very heated, but as the weeks passed, the Irish superstar changed his mind (a few times), and most recently, he wanted to combat the new “BMF.”

The UFC’s president, Dana White, told fight fans earlier this week that McGregor will definitely face Chandler next.

That was confirmed by McGregor during the same interview.
