Former BCCI Chief Selector MSK Prasad has joined Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) backroom staff ahead of IPL 2024. Prasad’s addition is part of a larger reform which saw Justin Langer replace Andy Flower as head coach.
A former India cricketer, Prasad brings with him a wealth of experience and a stellar track record in cricket operations. He brings in his experience of making key decisions with the Indian Cricket Team and will aid Gautam Gambhir and Justin Langer’s charge for a title with LSG.

In his previous stint, he served as the Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee with the BCCI. He played a key role in spearheading talent scouting and player development. Beyond his association with the BCCI, he has also served as the Director of Cricket Operations at the Andhra Cricket Association.
The former India cricketer orchestrated the establishment of state-of-the-art coaching facilities across 13 districts within the Andhra region. His involvement at RPSG Sports will be instrumental in providing essential guidance across a spectrum of critical domains as Head of Talent Search, talent development, and our academy business.
Prasad’s addition comes at a time when teams have begun preparations for the IPL 2024 Auction. The event will be held in late December, and both Langer and Gambhir will be keen to tap into Prasad’s insights on squad building at LSG.
