IND vs IRE: Team India is set to take on Ireland in a three-match T20I series set to start on August 18. Making his return to the Indian contingent, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be leading a rather young Men in Blue squad. There’s no doubt that Bumrah will want to win the series at any cost with team composition playing a major role in that. In this article, we will talk about three players who might not feature in the playing XI during the three-game series.

1. Jitesh Sharma
Named in the Indian squad for the first time, youngster Jitesh Sharma might have to wait for his turn to make the debut. Jitesh will be competing with Sanju Samson for the wicket-keeper role in the playing XI.
There’s no doubt that Samson will be preferred over Jitesh and if the former performs well with the bat, then there’s a big probability that Jitesh might warming the benches. However, if Samson fails to get going then it might be Jitesh’s number to show what he is capable of.
2. Prasidh Krishna
With Bumrah leading the pack and Arshdeep Singh bowling decently with the new ball and Mukesh Kumar bowling decently in the death, chances of Prasidh getting a game are bleak.
It must be noted that Prasidh is coming back after a prolonged injury lay-off that saw him missing the action for nearly a year. However, the right-arm pacer will want to show his antics with the ball in the upcoming series if he gets a chance in the playing XI.
3. Shahbaz Ahmed
Shahbaz Ahmed is a handy all-rounder and has proven his worth in the Indian Premier League. However, Ahmed is yet to make his debut in T20Is. The left-handed spinner might have to wait for his chance. India have Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube in the squad and they might get preferred ahead of the RCB all-rounder during the series.
