Return of Randy Orton
More than a year has passed without sighting Randy Orton within WWE’s walls. For those out of the loop, he’s been absent since May 2022 due to back fusion surgery. Hopes of his comeback during Money In The Bank and SummerSlam, potentially in an unexpected manner, fell through, and his return doesn’t appear imminent.
As per ringsidenews, “We’ve heard that he’s not yet cleared for in-ring training or action, and those we’ve spoken to say that there hasn’t been an extensive conversation about what the plans will be for Orton. As of now, before in-ring training resumes, Orton is planning to make a return to the ring. However, a lower back fusion isn’t typical among pro wrestlers and is uncharted territory for many. Doctors have told Orton that wrestling in the future isn’t a good idea, but he still plans on it. He has resumed lifting, and we’ve told he’s “huge” as a result.”

Currently, Orton is gearing up for a return to the wrestling scene and he is planning to return to the ring. However, the lower back fusion is an unconventional route in the realm of pro wrestlers, venturing into uncharted territories. Despite medical experts cautioning against his wrestling aspirations, Orton stands resolute in his ambitions. Nevertheless, considering that wrestlers already subject their bodies to immense strain, attempting a return while the injury isn’t fully healed isn’t advisable, as medical professionals have pointed out.
However, a precedent exists with John Cena, who made a surprise return to the ring during the Royal Rumble 2008, emerging victorious. With this in mind, WWE fans eagerly anticipate a similar unforeseen comeback for Randy Orton, wishing for it to happen sooner rather than later.
