Will Ben Stokes play World Cup 2023? Check out England all-rounder’s ODI stats

Check out the all-rounder's stats in ODIs and his performance in the multi-nation tournament.

Ben Stokes is considered to be one of the biggest match-winners in England’s cricketing history. The all-rounder has played many memorable innings, whether it be his 84* in the World Cup 2019 Final, his 52* in the T20 World Cup 2022 Final, or his Headingley heroics in Ashes 2019.

However, the left-handed batter announced his retirement from ODI cricket in 2022. Fans and even the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) are hoping that the southpaw returns for one final time to lead his side to ultimate glory. The question, however, remains: Will Ben Stokes play World Cup 2023?

Will Ben Stokes play World Cup 2023?

After calling it a day in the 50-over format in July 2022, Ben Stokes has been asked several times if he’ll return for one final time. The all-rounder has been adamant when it comes to his retirement. He also snubbed the journalists when they asked the test skipper questions about his comeback for the World Cup 2023 in India after the Ashes 2023 series.

Having played a vital role in England’s last two World Cup title wins, Stokes’ u-turn on retirement would make perfect sense.

England’s white ball coach Matthew Motts has also stated that the team will ask Stokes if he wants to return to the side, much like Moeen Ali did for Ashes 2023.
