So, here are the best Indian cricketers under 25 who will carry the torch for generations to come:

Tilak Varma (20 years old)

The youngster showcased his talent to the world when he had a career-defining season in IPL 2023. Tilak Varma has an impressive record in his brief India career so far and has done exceptionally well in domestic and franchise cricket.

In the four T20Is he’s played for India, Varma has scored 146 runs with an average of 73 and an impressive strike rate of 139.04. The batter’s overall T20 record is even better, where he strikes at 142.18 and averages 42 with the bat in 51 matches.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 years old)

Similar to Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal had his breakout season in IPL 2023. The opener ended the season as the 5th highest run scorer (625 runs), averaging 48 in 14 matches and striking the ball at 163.61.

Jaiswal has already played in two formats for India (Tests and T20s). The youngster averages over 80 in both formats (85 in T20I and 88.66 in Tests). In the five innings he has played in international cricket, the southpaw has one century and two fifties, all against the West Indies.

Prithvi Shaw (23 years old)

Prithvi Shaw made his international debut at just 18 years old. Having represented Team India in all three formats, the right-hander has already had a successful start to his young career.

His List A record is exceptional, having made 2931 runs in 56 matches at an impressive average of 55.30 with an astonishing strike rate of 125.47. He made the news recently after smashing 244 runs in 159 in the One-Day Cup in England.

Gill is the second-fastest player to score 1000 runs in ODIs (19 innings) and has the second-best average in ODI cricket history (62.47). He also holds the record for the youngest-ever double centurion in ODI cricket, a feat he achieved in January 2023.

The right-handed opener averages 32 in both Tests and T20Is. His numbers in T20Is are superior, however, as he has an impressive strike rate of 148.98 in 10 matches and a century to his name.
