Yashasvi Jaiswal Silents Critics with Blazing Fifty in Series Decider against West Indies

Yashasvi Jaiswal was at his best as he slammed a fifty in just 33 balls. India went to level the series on Saturday.

Dasher Yashasvi Jaiswal was on top of his game as he slammed his maiden T20I fifty against West Indies during the fourth T20I in Lauderhill. Chasing a decent total of 179 runs, openers Shubman Gill and Jaiswal were smashing boundaries for fun. To note, Jaiswal did not had a good debut in the 20-over format. However, the Southpaw has compensated big time after slamming 84 runs in just 51 balls including 11 fours and three maximums.

Jaiswal was in prime form as he scored his first T20I fifty in just his second match for India. Chasing a target of 179 runs, Jaiswal formed a crucial partnership with Shubman Gill to get the visitors off to a flying start. Jaiswal got to his half-century in the 11th over when he hit West Indies skipper Rovman Powell for a boundary over backward square leg. The left-handed batter got to the milestone off 33 deliveries.

“Of course, it is not easy. I am too happy to go out there and express myself. I would like to thank Hardik bhai and all the support staff, the way they went and the way they spoke to me before the match. Yeah, that was good. I think I try to play how the team needs, I try to think how quickly I can get the runs and how many shots I can get the shots inside the powerplay. And of course, reading the situation and to go along with it. But my aim is to score runs according to the situation,” Jaiswal said at the post match presentation.
