Which Boxers Are Boxing Tonight (August 12, 2023)?

The 37-1 Navarrete, sometimes known as “Vaquero,” hasn’t dropped a match since going 5-0 in 2012. Since then, he has appeared untouchable, defeating Isaac Dogboe to capture the WBO junior featherweight title by decision in 2018 and then KOing him in the rematch. Before switching to the WBO featherweight championship, which he earned in 2020, he successfully defended that title five times in total.

Before once more moving up in weight to compete for the WBO junior featherweight championship in his final match, he successfully defended that belt three times. In the most recent match, Liam Wilson was defeated by a ninth-round TKO.

With a 31-1 record going into this match, Valdez is fresh off a unanimous decision victory over Adam Lopez in May. After suffering his first defeat in his professional career—a unanimous decision loss to Shakur Stevenson—Valdez went on to capture the WBC super featherweight title. In 2021, Valdez defeated Miguel Berchett to win the title, which he successfully defended once (against Robson Conceicao).

The match between Navarrete and Valdez is scheduled for Saturday, August 12, 2023. The main event ringwalks are anticipated to take place at roughly 11 p.m. ET after the main card kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.
