Moises Caicedo: In what has been a tug-of-war between Liverpool and Chelsea in the last 48 hours, it seems as though the Reds have won the round. After Liverpool found out that Chelsea were aiming to sign their target, Romeo Lavia from Southampton. They decided to target Moises Caicedo, whom the Blues have been courting for more than 7-8 months. According to The Athletic, Jurgen Klopp’s team allegedly made a deal worth up to £110 million, and Brighton accepted it. Moises Caicedo, 21, had appeared set to sign with Chelsea this summer, but he is now expected to join Liverpool as soon as this Friday. Jurgen Klopp’s team submitted a £110 million offer, while Chelsea offered a contract for up to £100 million, according to reports.

It is also said that Brighton set a deadline of midnight on Thursday to sell Moises Caicedo to the highest bidder. The Reds don’t anticipate having any trouble reaching a personal agreement with the player, and a medical exam is set for Friday. Given their prolonged pursuit of the midfielder this summer, Chelsea would suffer a significant setback if Moises Caicedo signed with Liverpool.

Blues miss out on Moises Caicedo out of the blue

Brighton has rejected many of the Blues’ offers, but they still seemed poised to complete a deal before the transfer window closes at the beginning of September. This setback occurs just a few days before their opening Premier League match at Stamford Bridge against Liverpool.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were already recruited to Liverpool’s midfield this summer, but Caicedo will assist cover the void created by Fabinho’s transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea closing in on Romeo Lavia signing

Liverpool have been chasing the Belgian midfielder for quite a while in the transfer window now. While they have been trying to get the fee sorted for him, there has been a new twist in the tale. Chelsea, out of the blue, have popped up as one of the contenders to sign him. The Blues have apparently sent across an offer of £48 million for the Romeo Lavia.

In an unexpected move, Chelsea has launched a £48 million bid to outbid Liverpool for Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old Belgian midfielder is wanted by Southampton for £50 million after the Reds and Jurgen Klopp’s team have made “multiple” proposals.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Blues are making a lot of effort to sign Lavia. The relegated Saints understand that trying to keep him is futile. Chelsea’s offer, according to Ornstein, is “£48m including add-ons,” and the conversation is still ongoing. The imposing teenager has also been associated with a move to Manchester United.

The Championship club has been holding out for £50 million and on Monday rejected a £46 million offer from Liverpool, their third attempt. An overseas club has also made preliminary contact with the 19-year-old Belgian. Southampton is confident in their assessment because they anticipate Manchester City will exercise their £45 million buy-back clause, which becomes active next summer.
