After failing to make a mark in the IND vs WI T20 series, the former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra, has advised Sanju Samson to take his chances before it’s too late. Samson has made 19 runs in the two T20Is he’s played so far. The right-hander did not get a chance to get to bat in the IND vs WI 3rd T20 and only has two matches left to prove his worth to the management ahead of the World Cup 2023.
Samson had a lackluster ODI series as well; although he impressed with his quickfire 51 off 41 balls in the 3rd ODI, he made a total of 60 runs in two innings.
Chopra has warned the Kerela batter that he should grab his chances or he might be replaced with Jitest Sharma.

“Sanju Samson – don’t waste your chance. If you waste your chance, you will remember it later. It is not that if Ishan Kishan goes from the top, Sanju cannot go from below. Both can go and Jitesh Sharma can come,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.
Suryakumar Yadav’s imperious 83 off 44 balls in the 3rd T20 is also a worrying sign for Samson, as the aggressive batter seems to have found his form again after he failed in the ODI series.
The 28-year-old is fighting with Surya for a spot in the Asia Cup and World Cup 2023. But with just one good show with the bat in four innings, Samson may find himself under the axe.
Samson is also the third-choice wicketkeeper after KL Rahul, who is currently preparing to come back, and Ishan Kishan, who has already cemented his place as the backup opener in ODIs.
