Messi scored after only six minutes in his first road game since moving to the United States, before Dallas turned the game around. Inter Miami trailed 4-2 with 10 minutes remaining. On an evening when temperatures hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit, Messi turned up the heat with a pass that Dallas’ Marco Farfan headed into his own goal.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner then fired another free-kick into the top corner with five minutes remaining to draw the score. The game was then decided on penalties.
Messi scored Miami’s first penalty kick before Dallas’ Paxton Pomykal missed, allowing the visitors to win 5-3.
Messi Mania hits MLS again
In one of the most thrilling meetings in American soccer this season, there were four lead changes, three goals off free kicks, and two own goals. It only took six minutes for an old link to be re-established when Jordi Alba, making his first start for Miami on this night, cut the ball back for Messi to lash at to open the score.
After a couple of goals were scored, Dallas fullback Marco Farfan produced an absolutely perfect header… right into his own net, in what can only be described as a surge of hot blood. However, Dallas led the match 4-3.

Just 3 minutes after that, Leo had a free-kick just around 20 yards away from goal. This is a man who has scored goals like these for fun. He stepped up and did what Lionel Messi does best. Slammed the ball into the back of the net. The final blow was given to Dallas on penalties.
Messi has begun his USA chapter on a sizzling note. The Argentine has already scored 7 goals in 4 games and it doesn’t look like he is going to stop anytime soon.
