West Indies batted first and posted 149/6, thanks to a captain’s knock of 48 off 32 balls by Rovman Powell. Nicholas Pooran also chipped in with 41 off 34 balls, while Jason Holder was the star with ball as India were restricted to 145/9.

West Indies go with same XI

West Indies have made no changes to their playing XI for the second T20I, as they would not like to tinker with a winning combination. Powell leads the side again, while Pooran keep the wickets. Brandon King, Kyle Mayers and Johnson Charles will form the top order, followed by Shimron Hetmyer and Powell in the middle order. Holder and Shepherd will provide the all-round balance, while Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph and Obed McCoy will form the pace-spin attack.

Pooran & Powell crucial for West Indies

Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell are in fine form this season and Windies’ batting will once again heavily rely on the duo. Both players played brilliant knocks to power Windies to a good total on tricky surface.
