Now the PCB has decided to reward their stars owing to their dedication to the sport. The Chairman of PCB’s Management Committee Zaka Ashraf claimed that the apex cricketing body of Pakistan is ready to increase the salaries of their players.
Top stars in the team like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan who play all three formats of the game have been offered a monthly retainer of PKR 4.5 million each. Now this is a significant pay raise in comparison to their previous contract. Earlier the Test match playing players received 1.1 million rupees per month and the ODIs and T20I players got 0.95 million rupees.
The previous contract for the players expired on 30th June and the Pakistani players went on to play the PAK vs SL series with being centrally contracted to the PCB. It has also been understood that PCB has paid heed to the player demands and is willing to raise the salaries in other categories of the sport.
