The Blues are not going to stop. They have been on a spending spree ever since Todd Boehly overtook proceedings at the Stamford Bridge. Even though they have spent so much money already, there seems to be no stopping them. After having 3 bids rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion, they are all set to make their 4th bid for Moises Caicedo. Chelsea coach, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding the midfielder to his roster.

There will be a fourth attempt by the Blues to acquire Moises Caicedo, a midfielder estimated to cost £90 million. According to SunSport, Mauricio Pochettino of the Blues is determined to sign the Ecuadorian from Brighton. The Seagulls expect Caicedo, 21, to begin the season at the Amex and are asking for £100 million.
However, the two clubs yesterday reached an agreement on a £25 million transfer fee for Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to go from Brighton to Stamford Bridge. The Blues are hopeful that a deal for Caicedo will be completed thanks to their good relationship with Brighton, who they raided for their former manager Graham Potter and £62 million left-back Marc Cucurella.
Brighton rejected first 3 bids
Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has so far had bids of £60 million, £70 million, and £80 million rejected. Poch believes that Caicedo, who moved to Brighton from Independiente del Valle in 2021 for just £3.6 million, is the perfect midfield partner for £106 million Argentine World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.
Romeo Lavia, a 19-year-old sensation for Southampton who Liverpool are interested in, is also on Pochettino’s list, but Caicedo takes the top spot. The only other senior midfielder for the Blues is Conor Gallagher, 23, with Carney Chukwuemeka and Andrey Santos, both 19, following him.

Chelsea’s midfield overhaul
They have permitted the summer departures of N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Matteo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and loanee Denis Zakaria. When Caicedo made a public desire to depart in January, Chelsea and Arsenal took a look at him. Then, a month ago, he acknowledged that “beautiful” Chelsea is someone he “can’t say no” to.
However, owner Tony Bloom has no interest in selling Caicedo for less than £100m, despite Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi’s statement that Caicedo “deserves to play in another level” late last season.
According to reports, Brighton received a bid from an unidentified club that was reportedly more than Chelsea’s most recent offer. An unknown Saudi Arabian team reportedly made an approach, according to Sky Sports.
