Hardik Pandya and Co enjoy Day off after series win against West Indies

Hardik will lead the Indian side against West Indies in the five-match T20I series set to be played from August 3 onwards.

Skipper Hardik Pandya and his teammates including openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan enjoyed a day off before they take on the home side in a 5-match T20I series. To note, team India completed a thumping win over West Indies in the final ODI encounter to seal the series. The Men in Blue will hope to repeat the same antics in the 20-over format as well.

India will face West Indies in 1st T20 on Thursday

As mentioned above, Hardik will lead the Indian side. The likes of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav had a great time in the ODI series and they will look to replicate their performance in the T20 series. On the other hand, the likes of Sanju Samson, Umran Malik and Mukesh Kumar will try to cement their place in the Indian T20 side.

Insidesport

Speaking about the home team, West Indies have recalled experienced wicket-keeper batter Shai Hope and fast bowler Oshane Thomas to their squad for this month’s five-match T20I series at home against India.

While Hope is captain of the West Indies in 50-over cricket he hasn’t played a T20I for the Caribbean side since February last year, while Thomas is in line for his first international 20-over contest since December 2021 after selectors named a 15-player squad to take on India.

Experienced batter Rovman Powell will lead the West Indies throughout the series after he was once again named captain, while the likes of Jason Holder, Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer and vice-captain Kyle Mayers provide the side with plenty of firepower.
