India Playing XI vs WI 1st T20: Indian Cricket Team fans can expect more chopping & changing as the IND vs WI T20 series kicks off today. Hardik Pandya will lead a youthful Team with the best of IPL performers. In a way, this T20 reboot 2.0 with Tilak Verma making his India debut along with Mukesh Kumar in T20Is with eyes on the T20 World Cup in 2024. However, several stars like Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal would be itching to put on a show before the Asia Cup 2023. After a long time, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuvendra Chahal (Kul-Cha) will play together in T20Is.
Focus on T20 WC build up
While the ODI World Cup 2023 is of prime focus, the Indian Cricket Team has been slowly building towards their team for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies & USA. Hardik Pandya has led India in all T20Is since the start of the year and will do so in the Caribbean.
“We might be coming here to play the World Cup. Some players might get a chance to play here. By the time we come here next time, we’ll be prepared. I try to keep things simple. For me it’s about improving. I focus on processes. You might have some losses and failures, I am okay with it. It’s all about challenging ourselves. Umran, Bishnoi miss out. We are playing three spinners,” Hardik Pandya said at the toss.
Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav are also set to feature in the lead-up to the Asia Cup. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad who will lead India in Asian Games is not playing the 1st T20. Instead, Shubman and Ishan have been given chance to get some more practice before ODI Asia Cup.
Arshdeep Singh, India’s T20 specialist will lead the attack. Mukesh Kumar has got the debut and will form the pace attack along with Hardik.

Axar Patel is in the mix for the World Cup 2023 but was not afforded an opportunity during the ODIs. In the only game he played, he batted at No.4 and bowled only two overs. Now with Ravindra Jadeja rested, Patel is set to play all five games.
