Man United vs Borussia Dortmund Live: Club Friendlies LIVE – MUN vs DOR LIVE – Manchester United will take on German giants Borussia Dortmund in the last match of their pre-season United States tour. Man United have already played 5 pre-season matches. They’ve won 3 of them while losing the rest of the 2 matches. On the other hand, Dortmund are having the perfect run in their pre-season preparations. They have played four friendly matches by now and have won all of them. They will want to keep the winning streak intact as they face the Red Devils on Sunday.

So far, Manchester United are having a good run of performance in the pre-season tour. They have played 5 matches so far starting in Europe. They started with two wins against Leeds United and Lyon by 2-0 and 1-0 margins. Their third match was against the old Premier League rivals Arsenal and won comfortably by another 2-0 margin. Even in the exhibition penalty shoot, they won by a 5-3 margin against the Gunners. Their second team then took on Wrexham three days ago which they lost by a 3-1 margin.

In the meantime, their first team took on Real Madrid the very next day. They lost that match as well by a 2-0 margin. Their match against Dortmund will be their last in the United States. Then they will go back to Europe to face Lens and Athletic Club in their last two friendly games. Then they start their season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 15. In the meantime, it seems they have successfully brought in all of their transfer targets in the form of Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and now, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

Dortmund was extremely close to winning the Bundesliga last season. However, they lost the chance to win the domestic league to Bayern Munich. They still have an excellent chance to win the league this upcoming season. Dortmund are strengthening the team in preparation for that. They have started the perfect preparations for that with 4 consecutive wins in their 4 pre-season games. Additionally, they also scored a total of 18 goals in the process. They won two of their four friendly games by a huge margin.

Dortmund won their first match against Westfaila Rhynem by a 7-0 margin. They also won their latest match by a 6-0 margin against San Diego Loyal SC. Their other two games were against RW Oberhausen, which they won by a 3-2 margin and against Erfurt, which they won by a 2-1 margin. They will still play three more friendlies against Man United, Chelsea, and Ajax before taking on Schott Mainz in the DFB Pokal on August 12. Then they will begin their Bundesliga campaign against Koln on August 19.

Manchester United Team News

  • Coach Erik Ten Hag made a significant impact on the team last season and for a better season next time around, he is strengthening the team. Mason Mount was the first player to arrive from Chelsea. Andre Onana joined next after David De Gea left the club after 12 long years. Now, it seems Rasmus Hojlund has agreed to join the club as well. However, it seems unlikely that he’ll debut for them in this match.
  • They have two injury concerns in the form of Kobbie Mainoo who was taken off in the first 6th minute into the match against Real Madrid. He has gone back to England for treatment and will probably miss the beginning of the season. Amad Diallo also sustained an ankle injury in their friendly against Arsenal. However, he could recover and come back for this match.
  • Anthony Martial has also come back to training after recovering from a hamstring issue and he could be included in the squad on Sunday. Among the youngsters, Jonny Evans stayed back in the United States following his involvement in the match against Wrexham. He will be looking to get featured for the third time in this pre-season for the Red Devils.
  • The coach will probably line up his strongest starting XI against Dortmund. Hence, he could call Jadon Sancho and Antony to the starting lineup. He could also call up Marcus Rashford to be featured in the centre-forward position. In the meantime, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Mason Mount could be making up the three-man midfield.

Borussia Dortmund Team News

  • There have been three new arrivals for the Dortmund – Ramy Bensebaini, Felix Nmecha, and Marcel Sabitzer. The latter spent the last half of the season on a loan from Bayern Munich to Man United. He could be making his non-competitive debut for the Bundesliga club against his former club. Nmecha could also be making his debut alongside Sabitzer.
  • Nico Schlotterbeck and Julien Duranville both sustained injuries during their match against San Diego Loyal SC on Thursday. Hence, they will probably stay sidelined for this match against Man United. Coach Terzic could still line up his strongest XI against the Premier League giants. Their newly-named captain Emre Can could be amongst the ones to start.
