Ahead of World Cup 2023, here’s a look at the venues, records and stats

From the number of games to the wins, we take a look at all the venues scheduled to host the World Cup 2023 games in India

World Cup 2023 Venues: The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to commence on October 5 in India. India will solely host the marquee tournament with matches being held across 12 venues. The cities to host the World Cup matches include Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Dharamshala, Delhi, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will host the World Cup 2023 warm-up games.

Ahead of World Cup, let us look at the records and stats of each venue.

1. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

A total of five World Cup 2023 matches are scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. These clashes include the opening game of the tournament and the high-octane clash between India and Pakistan.

26 ODIs have been played so far at Ahmedabad. In 14 of these games, the team batting first has won while team bowling first has emerged victorious 12 times.

12. Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

Another venue for warm-up is Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Known to be a high-scoring venue, this stadium has only hosted two ODIs since 2018. But in both ODIs, batters have scored plenty of runs with bowlers mostly struggling. With dew being a big factor, spinners have had no luck at this venue. India will play against England in a warm-up here.
