Having played just 11 ODIs for India so far, Sanju Samson has managed to amass 330 runs, with two 50s to his name. Ishan Kishan, on the other hand, has played 15 games so far and has scored 562 runs. Suryakumar Yadav has played more games that both the batsmen. Having played 24 ODIs, SKY has scored 452 runs.
The run-factor could play a potential role in the selection of Samson. It is pertinent to point out that Samson played his last ODI for India in November 2022. The right-hander holds a record for most consecutive matches missed for a team between two appearances – 220 games.
