The Indian football Team, along with Qatar and Kuwait, has been drawn in Group A of the AFC World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. The winner of the pairing between Afghanistan and Mongolia will later join the three teams. The draw will also pave the way for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.

Indian Football Team SET to participate in Asian Games 2023
India has just defeated Kuwait in the final of the SAFF Championship. In the last World Cup qualifying campaign, India drew against 2019 AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar. However, Indian football fans are split on the views of result.

India had a more harder competition in the ensuing SAFF Championship in the form of Lebanon and Kuwait. The Blue Tigers won their ninth championship after defeating both Middle Eastern nations.
In conclusion, India’s exceptional performance has not only earned them three trophies. But also a favourable position in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers and the AFC Asian Cup in 2027.
