IND vs PAK: ODI World Cup 2023 – With India vs Pakistan match likely to be rescheduled in the ODI World Cup 2023, fans are set for mass cancellations of hotel bookings and hospital beds. IND vs PAK match is clashing during the start of Navratri on October 15, BCCI are mulling over the option of holding the match on some other day.

According to ICC Schedule, the blockbuster match is set to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since the festival of Navratri is celebrated more widely in the Gujarat side, BCCI is worried about security for the high-profile mega clash. The ticket prices are yet to be released, but fans have booked hotels and have started to inquire about hospital rates. 

“We are mulling the options that we have and a decision will be taken soon.” A top BCCI official who wished to remain anonymous told The Indian Express that the security agencies had advised against holding a high-profile match like India vs Pakistan because the crowds would be stretched thin due to Navratri. Thousands of traveling fans are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad for the game.

IND vs PAK: Jay Shah to hold a meeting on July 27 as IND vs PAK rescheduling chaos intensifies

For the unversed, on Tuesday evening, BCCI secretary Jay Shah sent a letter to the organizations organizing World Cup games inviting them to a meeting on July 27 in New Delhi.

It is likely that Board may take a call on the postponement of the match as well know the security issues in the area of Ahmedabad. Narendra Modi Stadium was chosen as the venue for this high-profile clash because of the seating capacity of over one lakh.  

“I feel it will be in the best interest of all concerned that we meet again to exchange notes and take stock of any issue which needs discussion and decision. Accordingly, you are hereby requested to attend a meeting of the World Cup hosting associations,” the letter sent to all state associations states.
