Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford Official Judges and Referee Disclosed- “Hell Nah”

At its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, the Nevada State Athletic Commission overwhelmingly cleared Oklahoma’s Sutherland to serve as a referee for the Errol Spence Jr.-Terence Crawford fight.

Additionally, the NSAC unanimously decided to pair veteran Nevada judge Tim Cheatham with veteran New Jersey judge Steve Weisfeld to oversee their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Harvey Dock, a referee with a base in New Jersey, was chosen to oversee Spence-Crawford. The most recent high-profile fight in Las Vegas, Devin Haney’s close victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko on May 20 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, was handled by Dock, Cheatham, and Sutherland.

As judges, Tim Cheatham, David Sutherland, and Steve Weisfeld will each get $3,000. Referee Harvey Dock, who will officiate the fight and be paid $4,000, will be the third guy in the ring.

Sutherland awarded Haney a 115–113 victory over Lomachenko in their 12-round, 135–pound title battle two months prior. Cheatham also gave Haney credit for defeating Lomachenko 115–113.

Another veteran Nevada-based judge, Dave Moretti, determined that Haney defeated Lomachenko with a score of 116–112. The 78-year-old Moretti’s final scorecard for the Haney-Lomachenko bout and his 10-10 decision in the second round of the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia fight appeared to disqualify him from the Crawford-Spence judging panel.

At T-Mobile Arena on April 22, Davis knocked Garcia out in the second round, but Moretti didn’t give the victory to the powerful southpaw. Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) was eventually knocked out in the seventh round by Baltimore’s Davis (29-0, 27 KOs), who eventually sent Garcia to the canvas once more.
