With the victory, Jones joined a select group of competitors who have won a UFC championship in two distinct weight classes.
Due to the successes and honours, he accrued during his tenure in the 205-pound division, including the record-breaking 13 title defences, which are the most in the history of the Las Vegas-based company, Jon Jones is regarded as the greatest light heavyweight in UFC history. Almost a decade of consistent supremacy made Jones a favourite in online sports betting.
In the main event of UFC 285 against Ciryl Gane, Jones successfully defended his UFC Heavyweight Title by submitting Gane in the first round to win another title. But in his post-fight interview, the MMA GOAT, as is now widely accepted, had his eyes on a different challenger. Stipe Miocic.
But now it looks like Jon Jones’s constant victories are leading him to inculcate arrogance and look down upon the other fighters. He shared a series of his thoughts pointing out his heavyweight supremacy, which wasn’t liked much by MMA fans.
Jon Jones wrote on his Twitter account “ Sometimes I feel like I’ve been in deja vu, everyone’s going to be the guy to kick my ass. Meanwhile, I’m over here undefeated with a face full of grey hairs”.
His second post stated, “ Half the time the guys talking the most crap don’t even end up winning their next fight. I’ve been around this game for a long time. Over the years, I’ve learned not to get all impressed so quickly. Stick around, and win consistently as I have. And then talk your shit.”
In his third post, he wrote, “ Everyone’s the next big until I beat them. And then it’s like well. Who was that guy anyway? Just a few months ago Gane was the absolute future of MMA. His best footwork is the fastest heavyweight we have ever seen. The most athletic. Now everyone’s like who the hell is that guy.”

Fans also taunted Jon Jones, on him calling himself undefeated when he has been defeated by Reyes. Also, it wasn’t Jon Jones but “ Francis Dominated Gane First”
