India will face WI in 1st ODI match on July 27 in Barbados
As mentioned above, India will take on West Indies in a three-match ODI series kicking off on Thursday, July 27 with the first game at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The second ODI will also be played at the same venue on Saturday. Queen’s Park Oval will host the third and final ODI in Port of Spain on Tuesday, August 1. All matches will start from 7:00 PM IST.
After winning the Test series, the Men in Blue will want to continue their winning run in the ODI series as well. The visitors have announced a balanced squad for the 50-over series with the likes of Pandya, Suryakumar, Sanju Samson, Umran Malik, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav joining the Indian team for the ODI leg of the tour.
On the other hand, the home team are starting all over again after failing to qualify for the ODI World Cup for the first time in their cricketing history. Batter Shimron Hetmyer has been recalled after a gap of two years. The likes of Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder are not part of the series due to personal reasons. They were not available for selection. It must be noted that West Indies have won only one of their last five matches and a daunting task lies ahead of them against a formidable looking Indian side.
