Former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu quashed the rumors of possible rift between Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. To note, Jadeja was named skipper of CSK in 2022 but after a spate of losses, Dhoni took over the reins mid-season. This created a huge storm with Jadeja not only leaving Chennai’s camp during IPL 2022 but also unfollowing the franchise from the social media platforms.
Jadeja was not upset with MS Dhoni at all: Ambati Rayudu
After having a torrid season in 2022, skipper Dhoni decided to take the matters to his own hand as he first cleared the CSK management that Jadeja should not be released from their squad. Dhoni also had conversations with Jadeja before the IPL 2023 to make things normal. It must be noted that Jadeja had won the 2023 IPL trophy for CSK in a dramatic manner after hitting two boundaries on last two balls of the final.
“I don’t think Jaddu (Jadeja) was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn’t doing great. Everyone’s performances that year were not coming up to the mark,” Rayudu said on BehindWoodsTV Youtube channel. Notably, CSK had finished second last on the points table in 2022 season.
“He (Dhoni) has put this team and has made Jaddu (Jadeja) what he is today. He has nurtured him for what, 10-12 years. So he would naturally be happy that the product that he made has won the final for CSK after whatever happened last year,” Rayudu added.
