The India vs West Indies Test series is over as the attention now shifts to white ball cricket. India will take on the Caribbean hosts for a 3-match ODI series. But ahead of the first ODI games, Rohit Sharma has a tough choice. The inclusion of Kul-Cha or Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The once formidable duo will look for a comeback as the Men in Blue prepare for the ICC World Cup.
It is without a doubt that Rohit Sharma and his boy will get a much-needed practice for the ICC World Cup 2023, but it also provides an option to try and test all permutations and combinations in the team. This is exactly where Chahal and Yadav fit in. This serves as a proving ground for the duo to showcase their mark and earn themselves not only a spot in the World Cup squad but also the Asia Cup squad.

Chahal last played an ODI for India back in January against New Zealand at home, Yadav played his last in India vs Australia series in Chennai in March. In fact, it was in the New Zealand series that the duo reunited once again. And now that the World Cup is on the horizon, the spin duo will want to take every opportunity to prove their mettle.
It is no surprise that the duo has fallen down the ranks in the pecking order for the Indian Team. But against West Indies, a team that failed to make it to the World Cup, it will be a perfect opportunity to test the duo out. Apart from the duo, India does have spin options in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, it will be crucial that Yadav gets his chance while the sun is still out.

Jadeja already slots in as an allrounder, while Axar can become an automatic choice along with Chahal, but it will be crucial to try the duo against West Indies. The duo have been complementing each other for years and were once the go-to options for India in white ball cricket.
If the duo can weave their magic once again it will grant us a chance to see both in Asia Cup and World Cup, on the other hand, the team gets an extra spinner who can come into the squad anytime. It is a win-win scenario for both.
