Harry Kane would cost MANCHESTER UNITED an astounding £30 million a year to sign him. The England captain for Tottenham would earn £577,000 a week. It would make him by far the highest-paid player in the Premier League. However. United have turned their interest into someone else.

Tottenham offered Kane, a new £400,000-a-week deal on Friday, but he has yet to sign it. Bayern Munich, the German champions, are also interested in signing him but have had two bids of £60 million and £70 million rejected. Kane was United’s first priority at the start of the summer.

Spurs owner Joe Lewis does not want their 280-goal all-time leading scorer to run out his contract and go on a free agent in a year. However, Old Trafford manager Erik ten Hag is anxious to avoid one player earning significantly more than the others.

Due to Financial Fair Play limitations, United must generate any transfer fee through sales. This comes after spending £98.8 million to acquire Mason Mount and Andre Onana. Bayern Munich is poised to make another offer for Kane, while Saudis Al-Hilal are also contemplating a proposal.

Bayern will have unrestricted access to Kane because, contrary to common perception, United will not re-enter the Kane hunt. The Red Devils’ attention has switched to alternative No.9 options. Rasmus Hojlund, an Atalanta youngster, is now their top goal.

Kane, who is about to turn 30, is rumoured to have sent his family home hunting in Germany. He aspires to join a squad that will allow him to end a protracted wait for significant awards.
