American Golfer Brian Harman emerged as the victorious Golfer at the prestigious The Open Championship on Sunday. Throughout the tournament, the golfer drew the eyeballs across the world for his uncanny resemblance with former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting. Several social media users called him the doppleganger of Ponting and flooded the internet with comparisons.

Brian Harman too got to know about the comparisons as the fans at the Royal Liverpool Gold course were chanting “Ricky, Ricky during the course of the tournament.
He agreed that he looks like Ponting and called him handsome fella. “Yeah, I hear a lot of ‘Ricky, Ricky’ out there. Yeah I look like him–handsome fella,” he said during his post-round conference.

The official Twitter account of The Open joined the fans craze and posted an image with Ricky Pointing on one side and Harman on the other. “The former Australia Cricket Captain Ricky Ponting. The leader of The Open Brian Harman,” tweeted The Open drawing comparisons.
Another fan posted a picture of Ricky Ponting playing golf and tweeted, “Anyone seen Brian Harman and Ricky Ponting in the same room?.”

This was the first major title for Brian Harman, who was ranked World No.26 before the tournament. It was also his first tournamrnt victory since 2017.
