IND vs WI: Rain has played spoilsport as the game has been called off for Day 5. As the match becomes a draw India wins the Test series 1-0. Earlier, rain washed away the first session on Day 5 of the India vs West Indies 2nd Test. But the game couldn’t resume as the drizzle came and then intensified to a pouring rain.

Day 4 too was affected by rain. But it didn’t deter the Indian batters, who came out aggressively as soon as the Windies’ innings ended.

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the openers, played with the urgency of a white-ball match, considering the weather conditions. As the game progressed, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan took charge, and their efforts helped India put up a total of 181 runs on the scoreboard. After this, the Indian skipper decided to declare the innings, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the Test match.

West Indies find themselves in a tough position, needing 289 runs to win the match, with their score at 76/2. Their approach during the chase seemed to suggest that they might be aiming for a draw, given the challenging target ahead. On the other hand, India’s plan for the final day would be to begin brightly, aiming to take early wickets and finish the job.
