The BMF championship will make its first appearance in the main event since Jorge Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz in 2019. As Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier prepare to put on a show in Salt Lake City, the BMF lineage will add yet another dimension. The top lightweights squared up for the first time in 2018, with Poirier winning via knockout in the fourth round.

A light heavyweight fight between former UFC champions Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira is the co-main event. Blachowicz recently competed for the then-vacant 205-pound belt in a dismal split decision draw. Pereira, who was defeated by Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title, is now making his divisional debut.

Three additional fights, Paulo Costa vs. Ikram Aliskerov, Tony Ferguson vs. Bobby Green, and Michael Chiesa vs. Kevin Holland, will fill out the main card on August 29.
