Rishabh Pant to make come back in India vs England Test Series at home

Rishabh Pant could return to action after being out of the Indian team for a year.

After the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), through their medical team, provided fans with the exciting news of Rishabh Pant making incredible progress to make a comeback on the Indian Team, a BCCI source has given a timestamp to when we could see the southpaw make his return in the Indian jersey.

Pant, who is still recovering from a car accident he suffered in December last year, has been making significant progress. After his fatal crash, Pant underwent ligament surgery after his right knee was damaged in the accident. Fans have seen the Delhi cricketer train in the gym or walk without pain through his regular updates. The BCCI has, however, confirmed that the southpaw batter has also started batting and doing light wicketkeeping in the nets.

Rishabh Pant and several other injured players, including the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul, are currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, undergoing rehab.

He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running” BCCI said in their medical updates on players.

However, a BCCI source has said that the southpaw wicketkeeper can be seen in action on the England Tour of India 2024. Pant, who played his last match in December 2022, can be seen donning the Indian jersey after over a year.

“Perhaps, a realistic target for Pant would be the five-Test home series against England in January-February next year,” a BCCI source told TOI.
