Skipper Rohit Sharma continued his good run with the bat as he went on to slam a quick fifty against West Indies. To note, India is taking on the home team in the second Test being played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. After being invited to have a bat first, both Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave another brilliant start to the visitors as they stitched another 100+ run stand for the opening wicket.

Rohit reached the landmark with a massive six off Kemar Roach
Rohit completed the fifty after smashing a huge six on the bowling of Kemar Roach. To note, this is Rohit’s 15th Test half century. Apart from his fifties, the senior batter has also slammed 10 centuries. The Indian skipper continued his good run from the first game where smashed an excellent ton.
Apart from completing his fifty, Rohit also became the first Indian player to amass 2,000 runs in World Test Championship (WTC) history. He is closely followed by Virat Kohli in the second spot. Meanwhile, the Indian skipper also completed his 3,600 Test runs. He averages 46.75 in the longest format of the game.
Earlier in the match, the home team won the toss and invited India to have a bat first. Just like the first match, openers Jaiswal and Rohit gave an excellent start to the visitors as they compiled a 100+ runs partnership. Speaking about the changes, pacer Mukesh Kumar was handed the debut cap replacing all-rounder Shardul Thakur who missed out owing to an injury.
